Obama Wins U.S. Jews’ Approval

I have made no secret of my admiration and support for Israel and the Jewish people. Let me make it very clear. I have never claimed to understand them.

A survey recently released by the American Jewish Committee has added to my confusion.

According to the new report 57 percent of surveyed Jews in America say they approve of President Barak Obama and they back his handling of Israel.

I am stunned. Surveys in Israel show figures as low as

President Obama

4 to 7 percent support Obama or his tactics.

Despite American Jews’ positive outlook on Obama and Israel-U.S. relations, their expectations for a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is less optimistic with 72 percent of respondent saying their view on an improvement in the situation has remain unchanged since the previous year.

The majority of those polled agreed that the goal of Arabs is the “destruction of the state of Israel,” with 80 percent believing peace cannot be achieved with a Hamas-led Palestinian government.

When I surveyed Jewish friends in Israel they described the survey result as ‘stupid’ or ‘crazy.’

If you have the ‘biblical code’ to this mystery send me an email – just go to ‘contact us’ and report away. I’m at ron@ronross.org. That’s me scratching my head.
