This World Needs a Church on Kingdom Business

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is ticked off with Turkey. Reports say ‘the leadership’ is not happy because Turkish authorities ‘played boats’ with Hamas and not with Fatah.
The PNA does not believe the blockade to Hamasland should be lifted until Hamas ends its ‘coup’ in Gaza. They insisted the Gaza blockade should be lifted and the Rafah crossing opened, but in coordination with the PNA, not Hamas.
While the world media and many high profile politicians have united with Helen Thomas to blame Israel for defending its right-to-exist, terrorists entities are not so aligned. (Helen Thomas ‘retired’ this week from the White House Press corps for highly inflammatory remarks against Israel. Her comments were denounced by White Press secretary Robert Gibbs)
Iran Ready to Sail
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard announced at the weekend it is ready to provide military escort ships to tackle the blockade into Gaza, the announcement was confirmed by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatolla Ali Khamenei. Why didn’t we think of that? Iran, with its amazing humanitarian record at home, is the ideal blockade breaker. Silly us!!!
Israel IDF Reserve General Uzi Dayan was very blunt when asked to respond. He told army radio if the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan fulfills his threat to accompany another flotilla, the Israeli’s should shoot to destroy the vessel and kill Erdogan. (Dayan is a leader in the fight to free kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit. He has served as Head of the Planning Branch of the IDF and headed the Israel security committee to peace negotiations with the Jordanians, Palestinians and Syrians. And I would think in no mood for diplomacy!)
The comments by Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini were interesting. He said, Iran is seeking to control Gaza. Come to think of it, Hamas is already installed in that position but he can see what is going on.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday she thinks Iran will “pull some stunt” in the next few days because it expects further United Nations sanctions over its nuclear program.
I’m not sure even Clinton anticipated Iran buying into the blockade debate. From an Iranian point of view, they are pleased the Gaza flotilla took world focus off their sanctions issues but they were not pleased that their thug status, was threatened by the Turks.
Hamas and Hizbullah Respond
But then Hamas and Hizbullah rejected the Iranian offer. Hamas lawmaker Jamal al Khzri warned they did not want further tensions in the region.
Kamel al Rifai, a Hezbollah member of the Lebanese Parliament was interviewed by the London-based Asharq al-Awsat daily. He said an Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard protected Gaza-bound flotilla would produce negative results ‘since the purpose of sails is not military but to influence public opinion.’
So, it was never about humanitarian aid? Oh my, I’m shocked!!!! Even before the first Gaza flotilla set sail, Israel offered to collect their cargo in Ashdod and deliver it safely to recipients in Gaza. But no! That would have been too docile. No public opinion catastrophe! No headlines or videos! No opportunities for reporters with the Helen Thomas syndrome to pen their poison.
Of course, Helen Thomas is a Jew and it seems she has friends in Germany. The German Jewish group Jewish Voice for Peace is planning a Gaza flotilla of their own.
“We have one small craft so far, in which there will be between 12 and 16 people,” Kate Leitrer, an organizer told Ynet. “Getting another boat means more expense, she said. ‘Because of limited space there will be school equipment, candy and mainly musical equipment and musicians who’ll teach the children of Gaza.”
Not really what the Israeli government needs, a flotilla, manned (or womanned) by Jews from Germany!!!
But wait there’s more… there is another Israeli flotilla. This one is planning to sail to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to protest Turkish rule over the area. They plan to set sail June 14.
Hang on, not finished yet! Not to be outdone, members of Israel’s National Student Union intend to sail towards Turkey in what is said to be a ‘reverse flotilla.’ The students plan to provide humanitarian aid and ‘to show that Turkey has its own issues when it comes to the treatment of its minorities.”
If the mounting tension were not so serious we could joke and declare the whole procedure to be ‘all at sea.’ But with so many nations guarding national greed, power and control instead of seeking peace, justice and mercy, the fallen world will reap what it sews.
Makes me think of Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Hey church! I think we have some proving to do.
