So the Bushehr nuclear has been loaded with its first fuel and the United States has assured everyone it is for peaceful purposes only.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hardly needs an excuse to ‘mouth off’ and he has maintained his form.

He dubbed a new Iranian jet bomber ‘the ambassador of death’ when it was launched Sunday. The unmanned bomber is 13 feet long and is named Karrar (Striker) in Farsi.

Ahmadinejad warned, Iran has the capacity to retaliate against any country, including the United States.

He said Israel is ‘too weak to face up to Iran militarily’ and said the US was unable to defeat even a small army in Iraq.

“America is not interested in sparking a military confrontation with Iran,” he said.

“There is nothing reliable in what they say; Their inward part is destruction itself. Their throat is an open grave; They flatter with their tongue. Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You.” (Psalm 5: 9,10)

Middle East Peace Talks

The Palestinian Authority continues to find reasons not to meet with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Abbas said he will not talk unless Israel ceases settlement activity in the West Bank.

The Arab League warned the peace talks will fail because of the demands made by Israel.

An Arab official said the Palestinians will be unable to accept Netanyahu’s preconditions which requires recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee member Wassel Abu Yousef, said Palestinians will not be able to accept such a condition.

“They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace. (Jer. 6: 9)

Gaza Aid Ship

The latest Gaza aid ship, the Mariam, is in need of a friendly port.

Right now it’s stuck in Tripoli. Cyprus denied the Mariam permission to dock or use its waters, and the ship’s organizers say they have contacted Greece for permission to dock the ship but have not received a reply.

Sounds like the hand of the Lord, to me.

“Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.” (Psalm 33:20)

Joseph’s Tomb

Chief Rabbis Shlomo Amar and Yona Metzger issued a joint call Thursday to rebuild Joseph’s Tomb in Samaria. The site is under PA control, and for most of the year is closed to Jewish worshippers.

In 2009 visitors arrived at the site to discover smashed headstones and swastikas painted on the walls.

Since 2009, Jews meet at the Tomb once a month to pray. They are instructed to wear bullet-proof vests and are accompanied by armed Israeli soldiers.

“Now they buried the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up from Egypt, at Shechem, in the piece of ground which Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for one hundred1pieces of money; and they became the inheritance of Joseph’s sons.” (Josh 24:32)
