The Saudi and Iranian tensions moved to a new level this week, with a challenging statement issued by the authorities in Riradh.
The remarks officially endorsed by the Saudi government said, “It condemned in strong terms the irresponsible statement issued in the name of the Committee for National Security and Foreign Policy of the Council of Iranian Islamic Shoura which described the Saudi policy in the Gulf region as playing with fire and demanded the Kingdom to withdraw its forces from Bahrain,” the Saudi Press agency reported.
“The statement (of the Iranian committee) ignores the premeditated interference in the internal matters of the countries in the region violating the sovereignty and independence of those countries. It also attempts to stoke sedition and incite trouble with hostile policies contravening international laws and norms and principles of good neighborliness. The latest instance of Iran’s brazen interference was in Kuwait where it used a network, linked to the Iranian mission, to plot against that country,” the Saudi statement said.
Western analysts have frequently referred to Middle East intervention and incitement by Iran. Now the statement by the Saudis put the charge in writing and they followed their accusation with threats.
According to Arab News the confrontational statement went on to say Iran had no right ‘to violate the sovereignty of the kingdom of Bahrain, or poke its nose into Bahrain’s or any other country’s affairs, or to attempt to deny Bahrain’s legitimate right to seek the help of the forces of the Peninsula Shield Force.”
“Bahrain like any other GCC member country has the right to seek the help of the force for the defense of its country, its peace, its security and its people and properties, the statement said.’ (The action in Bahrain has been under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and involved Saudi Arabian troops).
Watch these developments carefully. Daniel 10 has much to say about Persia (Today’s Iran). The biblical remarks are militant and suggest military encounters but more than that, Daniel 10 indicates a strong, successful spiritual warfare encounter.
“Then he said, “Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come.” (Daniel 10:20)
Through prayer and intercession we should be seeking the Lord for His conquering powers to thwart Iran and the powers motivating their aggressive ambitions.
It is obvious America has no appetite for further expanded activity into the Moslem world.
We will learn in coming days, the balance of power always remains with the King of Glory. Hopefully most will get that message before the climax comes.
